Why rhythm can feel calming
Babies often experience rhythm during everyday care: rocking, walking, breathing, and repeated sounds. A gentle rhythm can make a bedtime moment feel less abrupt. Vibration is one way to add rhythm, but it should always be used carefully and safely.
The purpose is not to shake or force sleep. It is to add a soft repeated cue to the environment.
Use these ideas with KalmBaby
Set up calming sounds, white noise, vibration intensity and session length directly in the app.
Start with low intensity
KalmBaby includes an intensity slider for vibration. Start low, then increase only if the surface and situation make sense. Stronger is not automatically better. A soft vibration on a stable surface can be more appropriate than a harsh one.
Different phones and surfaces feel different. A wooden table, bedside surface, or mattress support nearby may transmit vibration differently, so always test the setup first.
Use vibration safely
Never place the phone where the baby can reach it, cover it, or pull it. Do not put a loose phone inside the crib or directly against the baby. Keep the phone flat and stable, with enough distance for safe use.
If you are unsure about the placement, do not use vibration. Sound-only mode can still be useful.
Combine vibration with sound only when needed
A routine can use music, white noise, vibration, or a combination. If the room already feels busy, using fewer features may be better. KalmBaby lets you disable sound or disable vibration so the session matches the moment.
Simple settings are easier to repeat. Try not to change intensity, sound, and pattern every few seconds.
Custom rhythms for premium users
Custom vibration patterns let users define an initial delay, vibration duration in milliseconds, intensity, and steps. These controls create a personal rhythm that can feel more natural for a specific routine.
Custom patterns are best used after the parent understands the basic presets. Start simple, preview the pattern, and keep the routine gentle.
